can anyone please tell the mayor or health officer of tubigon to please impose the restriction of smoking to open places only. it should be NO SMOKING TO freaking CULTURAL CENTER and other close areas. that's all i'm requesting for a cleaner and lighter air of tubigon.
First, there should be a ban on smoking in offices or public places. This can be done only if the public officials don't smoke themselves. I have a brother who smokes. I know of a colleague who tried to quit smoking several times but eventually succumb to it again and again and again.
Next, to implement the non-smoking law, there should be a fine imposed. As long as an official receipt is issued when collecting fines, that's a good source of income for the municipio!
I think the public officials are not really thinking about the ill-effect of smoking because they don't share the financial impact/pain of the people/ family who are suffering with smoke related diseases such as cancer, congestive heart failure, stroke, cot death for babies(sudden infant deaths),premature delivery, asthma, etc that's why they are not really concern on implementing a non-smoking law. Here in UK, the government decided to impose the ban on smoking in offices/workplaces (but they have their special place though), and any public and close places such as pubs, restaurants, etc(and the owner/employer would be fined if they'll not follow) because the NHS (national health services) is spending too much on smoke-related diseases due to the fact that hospitalization or health services here are free, prescriptions are free for below 16 y.o and for least fortunate individual and even putting an elderly to a nursing home would be funded by PCT(primary care trust, still an nhs) according to their circumstances. that's why action have been done...Real education is needed in Philippines especially for the new generation and there should also be a legal age for it. In Tubigon, wow I was gobsmacked on how people at young age, they are smoking proudly without a care to the ones sitting next to them. They smoke like a chimney!

I agree with you guys! Smoking stinks, as a matter of fact, it's one of the leading cause of death in the entire world. It can cause heart disease, emphysema, cancer, bad breath, and other respiratory diseases. It was reported that the effect of second hand smoke is worst than the actual person who smoke. So, there should be a designated areas for smokers. Absolutely no smoking in public areas such as: offices, public and private buildings, and in cultural center. No offense to smokers but we can work it out together. Smoke is good pero kanang mag sugba ta ug di magdaub. Joke lang lol. Peace!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Thank you...
Implementing laws against smoking is right and charging penalties to those violators is good!!.. but i have my suggestion.. If you think this is the BEST WAY, i hope this will be carried too..I would like to address this suggestion to our MUNICIPAL HEALTH OFFICE. Please.. give extra time to hold seminars in each baranggay about the DANGEROUS EFFECT OF SMOKING and How to get rid from it!! (if it was done already, Thanks for the great Job and more power!)
Anywhere outdoor or indoor smoking is to be done, the smokes can still travel everywhere and thereby everybody can inhale it "YES" second hand smoke is WORST..
No matter we posted "NO SMOKING SIGNS" to all the walls in public places if the people themselves has no self discipline and No Fear of the expected illnesses( mga way kurat!) Our goal to promote good health to everybody will remain unsuccessful..
good idea to evryone who talked about smoking...I knew that dili sayon ang pag undang panabko but in a public places it's not good specially in our health..well well, hope hon ploy can do everything about this since you are here in this site i know you can make it..
