Anyag sa Tubigon 2009
May 13 at the Tubigon Cultural and Sports Center was a night filled with beauty and glamour. The Anyag sa Tubigon 2009 was an astonishing success as I can say it is the best beauty pageant in Bohol.
Its theme was inspired with an ethnic touch revolving around the preservation of our environment. The pageant acknowledges the importance of taking care of our environment as it is our primary concern as inhabitants of the earth to save it not only for this generation but for the next generations as well.
The pageant starts with an invocation by the El Shaddai Choir followed the singing of the Philippine National Anthem by Sherwin Sato, Bohol Hymn by Alexander Delgado and Tubigon Hymn by the El Shaddai Choir.
19 lovely gorgeous women of Tubigon leave the audience all in awe with their beauty and charm as they take their Production Number together with Clarice Elaine Radoc, Anyag sa Tubigon 2008, Friends Society and with the accompaniment of Mamaklad Band with their “Maayo Man” of Pinikpikan.
Mr. Roy Empleo of ABS-CBN’s host for KAPAMILYA , WINNER KA hosted the said pageant with Ms. Claudette Christine Ranara, Miss BACS Personality 2006 and Miss Bluberry First Teen Princess, as her anchor woman.
This pageant brought a lot of memories for the candidates as the VTR rolls the “FUN SHOTS AND LOCATION SHOOTING” of the candidates. Aside from the hectic schedules and activities, the candidates were able to bond when they visited the tourist spots and different corporate sponsors. They have created memories for a lifetime, and this VTR is their proof. (‘Ill upload this videos soon ^^)
The selection of winners will never be possible without the people who have the toughest job for that night. They have accepted the invitation to be the decision makers of the fate of our candidates. That night, they cannot just relax and enjoy the show because for that entire night, they scrutinized extensively all the candidates. Their credibility is beyond recognition. They are as follows:
Harley Ruedas – Cebu’s top fashion designer and the proprietor of Harley Ruedas Apparel
David Chai Tangalin – Mr. Cebu 2008
Director Jurey Mirafuentes – Director of ABS-CBN/Cebu – Kapamilya Winner Ka Game Show
Ms. Dysza Jagna – Ms Philippines Earth, Central Visayas 2006
Madam Pureza Chatto – the First Lady of Congressman Edgar Chatto (chairman)
The candidates were rated in a scale of 1-10, in which one is the lowest and 10 is the highest. The candidates had undergone several competitions such as Playsuit, Casual Interview and elegance of the Gown Competition. Also, the committee graded the candidates based on their attendance, time management, punctuality, values and attitude. The average of the above scores was computed and the candidates who garnered the top 10 scores were automatically included to the Finals. During the final segment, the criteria for judging were 50% beauty of face and 50% intelligence. On the final Q and A portion, the candidates picked a number from a bowl corresponding to the picture that was flashed on screen. The candidates gave their view or opinion or anything they wanted to convey her message on the picture. That was really a one tough competition.
Int the first part, they competed in the playsuit competition where they exposed their sexy statistics wearing Elmer de Venancio’s (one of Cebu’s finest designer) black and white playsuit collection. As the night grows deeper afte their casual interview, the competition of charm and elegance and how they handle themselves followed in the evening gown competition.
As part of the program, performers such as Marivel Lor, 2nd prize winner of Sambunot sa Awit 2009 and Julie Ann Reserva and Jison Cajes, 2008 and 2009 BACS-1, Provincial and CVRAA Meet winners entertained the audience.
The announcement of the top 10 followed as the crowed hold their breathe as the host announces the top 10 finalists. They were as follows:

Candidate # 3 – Monique Abapo - Pangapasan Island
Candidate # 16 – Angelee Singcol – Bosongon
Candidate # 6 – Catherine Calunia – Panaytayon
Candidate # 8 – Jared Sagarino – Macaas
Candidate # 9 – Amir Sol – Cabulijan
Candidate # 5 – Charice Aplacador - Guiwanon
Candidate # 11 – Jessa Valer – Pooc Occidental
Candidate # 12 – Ana Theresa Labella – Pooc Oriental
Candidate # 7 – Queennie Espere - Potohan
After the brainstorming of the final Q & A portion, Ms. Clarice Elaine Falcon Radoc, Anyag sa Tubigon 2008 took her farewell walk as she relives the memories when her dream came true when she was crowned as the 1st Anyag sa Tubigon. She was just an ordinary 2nd year high school student by that time and who would have thought that an ordinary girl like her would garner such title. It must’ve been one of the best memories she will forever cherish. Now, her time has come to relinquish her throne to her successor.
And so the moment of truth has come. The proclamation of the top 5 of the Anyag sa Tubigon 2009.
